DOCUMENTATION: Title from 1973 and 1 broadcast sheet was located under the rear seat.
OPTIONS: Original tach and side stripe car. I also believe it was a special order car per the Y_9 code on the broadcast sheet. I purchased the car from a widow. Her husband (John) was the second owner and he bought it in the spring of 1973, the week he first saw his future wife of 50 years - when she drove past him in a brand new 1973 Challenger. Over the course of their courtship, John threw a variety of Mopar Direct Connection performance and suspension parts at the car. He overhauled the #s matching 440 with a mopar 509 purple stripe cam and matching valve spring. Stock heads were ported and polished. The pistons were fly cut to accommodate the cam. Rotating assembly was blueprinted and balanced. Further, John took weight reduction and suspension to the next level by purchasing a variety of Direct Connection aluminum replacement parts. The #s matching 18 spline was disassembled and placed in an aluminum housing and the water pump was also replaced for an aluminum unit. Regarding the suspension, John moved the leaf springs under the Direct Connection relocation kit. The ass end was mini tubbed and a set of frame connectors were also installed. As John and Linda?s relationship evolved into a marriage and they started a family, the track prepped car was parked with 11,000 miles on the clock and proceeded to spend the next 40+ years in the garage. Dad and I plan to take this car to the track and do with it as John intended.
